The benefits of installing a performance exhaust on your motorcycle

Installing a motorcycle performance exhaust brings multiple advantages, enhancing both the look and performance of your bike. The exhaust system delivers a more aggressive and sporty sound, gives your bike a more dynamic and appealing style, and boosts engine performance. Thanks to its lighter weight compared to the stock exhaust, your motorcycle becomes more agile and responsive. Another key benefit is the reduction of heat from the exhaust system due to the faster evacuation of gases.

Street-legal performance exhausts

Most Moto-Sound exhausts are fully approved for road use across Europe and Switzerland. Each system comes with a homologation certificate and includes a db killer to comply with legal noise limits. We recommend always checking the product page to ensure the exhaust you choose is marked as road-legal.

With or without a catalytic converter: what to choose?

If the product page offers the option to add a catalytic converter, we suggest including it to obtain double homologation: both for noise and exhaust gas emissions. Without the catalytic converter, the exhaust is homologated for sound only. If the option is not available, it means no additional catalyst is required (you can retain the original one) or your motorcycle was registered before 2003.

ECU remapping: when is it necessary?

If you are replacing only the slip-on exhaust, remapping the ECU or adding modules is not mandatory. However, riders who want to fully optimize power delivery and torque may still choose to remap. When replacing the full exhaust system and removing the original catalytic converters, ECU remapping becomes essential. This will prevent engine warning lights and ensure optimal engine performance.
