YOSHIMURA Exhausts: the Japanese originals
Have you already had a chance to test the products of the well-known brand Yoshimura Japan? This is a company that has been nothing short of a pioneer in the field of high-quality motorbike sports exhausts. The company is currently based in Nakatsu, but was founded in 1954 by Hideo 'Pops' Yoshimura, a true motorbike enthusiast. From that point onwards, Yoshimura started his business, initially as a motorbike repair shop and later transformed into a manufacturer of high-quality sports exhausts for motorbike enthusiasts.
The company's history starts with the ingenuity of its founder
Since back in 1954, when Yoshimura Motors was founded in Fukuoka, Japan, the legendary Pop Yoshimura started his own engine revolution. At that time, there were still no manuals explaining how to optimise the engine. Nevertheless, Pop - with his knowledge of mechanical engineering and his inspiration - set to work perfecting many different types of engines. Thus, in a short time his fine-tuning skills attracted the attention of the American military, so much so that he earned the nickname 'Divine Hand'. His reputation grew as he won several titles in various competitions and became world-famous, so much so that, in 1973, the Yoshimura company expanded abroad with Yoshimura Japan Co., Ltd. and Yoshimura Research andamp; Development of America, Inc. both dedicated to the production of high-performance motorbike products. Specifically, the American office, based in Chino, was founded by Gene Romero, an engineer who saw an opportunity to expand Yoshimura's presence in the United States. Over time, Yoshimura Randamp;D of America has become a leading manufacturer of motorbike sports exhausts in the United States as well. So much so that it has become a supplier for major competitions such as AMA Superbike and AMA Motocross, and so much so that it has partnered with motorbike manufacturers such as Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha to develop custom exhausts Pop's son, Fujio, has inherited his father's spirit and dedication, carrying on the tradition of Yoshimura engine excellence. Fujio has spearheaded the further growth of the motorsport world, taking the Yoshimura brand to new heights. Under his enlightened leadership, the revolutionary Duplex exhaust system design, MJN carburettor and Tri-Oval silencer were born, all creations from his brilliant mind.
